IRRIGATION

GATES FOR IRRIGATION

With the SteadyFlow Gate, water flow stays consistent, automatically adjusting to changing water levels so you don’t have to. This means less manual gate adjustment, better infrastructure protection, more equitable water distribution, and the restoration of riparian environments.

A horizontal gate with an adjustment wheel and dial is included on SteadyFlow irrigation gates that allows for the gate to be fully closed or for the constant flow rate to be set. Our largest gate supports flows up to 20 cfs, and models are available with 5’ or 10’ maximum depths.

BENEFITS

SAVING
TIME

The SteadyFlow Gate significantly reduces or eliminates the time spent by water users and ditch riders adjusting headgates in response to fluctuating stream or reservoir depths by automatically adjusting without the use of electricity.

PROTECTING THE
SYSTEM

When storm events occur, irrigation systems can be overwhelmed without notice, damaging miles of infrastructure. Too often, water users and ditch riders risk their own safety by wading through floodwaters to close headgates during a flood event. The SteadyFlow Gate automatically reduces the opening area during a flood event to protect all of the downstream irrigation infrastructure as well as the adjacent properties.

ENSURING EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF WATER RESOURCES

The SteadyFlow Gate ensures that water users are using their full water right, even when the stream or reservoir depth decreases. It also reassures water commissioners and neighbors downstream that water users aren’t using more than their right when the headwater depth increases. This decreases conflicts and excuses about water usage to ensure equitable and efficient distribution of water resources.

RESTORING RIPARIAN ENVIRONMENTS

Traditional headgates, without constant monitoring and adjustment, decrease the effect of natural stream fluctuation. The SteadyFlow Gate on the other hand allows the remaining flow in the stream to better match natural fluctuation patterns and has numerous benefits to the environment.
